Ok why dont I try and get some talk going here... What *does* everyone think of anarchy? The complete lack of a governing body, people rule themselves... An idealistic fantasy causing chaos in the real world? Or an alternative to the back-stabbing greed of capitalism? Im in favour of it obviously, I loathe control... V

The idea of anarchy is perfect, but it relies too much in the good of the people to be successful and the people suck. Everyone would kill eachother because of their greed, and hatefulness. But then you ask yourself: What if everyone is killing eachother because they are unhappy? If we had an anarchy then would everyone be happy? Mayby so. People have not been around that long and yet we are already killing ourselves off. That will probably be our destruction. Us. Not some astroid or alien invaders. I think one day the gov.er..n..men.t will collapse, probably sometime soon. Then we should let a new better gov..er.n.me.nt come in , if not, let anarchy kick in.

Thats a good point actually Blackcat, anarchy is the true "governing by the people, of the people". If the people arent committed then the whole thing fails.... So it rests with the people, and as you said, can we rely on them? Welcome btw ;D

hum.. yes. I tend to agree with Blackcat & Angel one on this one...
the idea is great, even better if it could work and be sustained, but... greed.

*sighs too* Wouldnt that ROCK? I mean really? Maybe the world as a whole isnt ready for anarchy, but a small group of people, maybe a few hundred, with plenty of land to do their own thing? Perfection is... V

Anarchy is a dream. It seems to me that because of human nature, anarchy could never last for more than a few generations. People instinctively want some form of organization to their lives. I mean just look around in everday lives. Everything has a leader and essentially, its own caste system of sorts. Families, businesses, message boards even. And even if by some chance someone would make an anarchy work, there would still be a leader who had control over of something that mattered....

Yeah I know, your right... If anarchy ever does happen, it will likely only be a *kind* of anarchy.... I mean even if a community were to govern itself, they would have a governor, or a commitee or something... But what if....? People really did govern themselves? I mean if their mindset was to change, and it were to become possible? The reason anarchy wouldnt work now is because of society, and its laws... IMO anyway... people would abuse anarchy, and the weak would be subjugated by the strong... But what if??

even if people changed their mindset, as you say, it would be impossible, i mean even the "less developed" animals have some form of structured government...

So the more developed ones should be able to live without it... In theory.. I guess it only appeals to certain people. Some would thrive and grow in an anarchist environment, some would just abuse it and seek control, and some would simply not be cut out for it. Like capitalism. I think they days with one country having a single governing system should come to an end. Just give people a choice.

Its not that some people would be able to handle it and some wouldnt, its that it is literally impossible to exist. Even haveing an anarchy as a government is a contradiction in itself simply because in the absense of order and structure and government, there is....government that is. tee hee.

But by definition anarchy is the absence or government. I agree with you that it may not be possible YET, but someday... V

i view anarchy as an illusion...not because it's not attainable but because of an illusion that it'd bring happiness. isn't that what you're saying in the end? The reason for wanting anarchy, wanting anything in life? I used to think if i was in Middle school, everything will be better and itd be all perfect, then in middle school, i thought high school would be everything I wanted it to be but6 it wasn;t and isn't. Would anarchy bring you happiness? if not what do u gainf rom it? more freedom, does physical freedom mean more than ur mental freedom? Because by focusing and becoming fanatical about any idealism or a thing is placing baracade in ur counsciousness. Which one is more important? Which one do u feel has more effect on you? It's a suny day outside but if ur state of mind is suffering, you're suffering so I think a sickness of mind is much more detrimental than a physical condition around that person. Ah but where do u make the seperation between mental and physical or spiritual freedom? What's the point of anarchy unless it'd give u what you want, and the cause behind wanting it is worthy? but would it really live up to all ur dreams and hopes? maybe..maybe not, but if it does, who's the one that making it a hope and such a great thing? And what is that source of happiness...is it anarchy, then do u lose it also, when u lose that physical freedom? how is it then able to provide u with anything? yes, u may enjoy thsi illusion of freedom, but tell me if u go outside right now, is someone going to come up to u and say sorry u can;t go out, there is no freedom in this country. I believe freedom as our universal right, but are you not free right now to do what u choose to? then isn't this anrchy just an extreme view of something that you arleady have. If this anarchy, will provide u with what you want, which is I believ to be some form of happiness, is it gone when this anarchy type of govt is gone? Don't be a boneless dog, be a lion. Go after the source not its branches, why why why? Did pencil ever ask to be called pencil, did money say I'll make you happy or miserable? Did a car say you'll be the coolest guy if u drive me? hah the words sky is red and ocean is blue never was more true.

Te greatest joy is finding a light that has always been with you all this time. Only if you...choose to see it. It can;t be lost or gained...for by trying to gain it, you're better off trying to lose it. i have realized nothing, I know nothing. That's a good place to start.

No, but if you want to enjoy life instead of endure it, you should be as free as possible. Yes. It is... Thats the point, it *is* attainable...
