Death penalty, are you for or against? I'd like to know what people around think about it, so cast your vote if you want to.
Also if you can or want to explain you choice, go ahead, I believe it will create an interesting debate. To get it straight: state your opinion, don't start talkis like "well, from the point of view of economy it is cheaper to kill them, but on the other hand we can make them work..." or "I am against in general, but for in some cases"...
You must decide if you approve when society says someone "you don't deserve living on this planet", when the judge says "you will die, we want you to, we won't let you be", or you don't.
... p. s. I am not talking about substituting death penalty, I want to know wha people think... from YOUR point of view...

I assume that "Yes" means for the Death penalty and "No" Means against?
I chose yes. I am in favour of capital punishment, when it is administered in a fair and impartial manner. Not because of corruption, because of any fiddling going on behind the scenes, nothign like that. If it is decided that someone is a threat, and that there is no way to remove this threat through reeducation or whatever, then death is viable alternative. I do however believe that some form of banishment could be used as a prevention measure, so *before* they kill, people would have an option, leave society. If they feel oppressed, or if they feel like losing it, they can leave. But after they commit an atrocity, I think that the death penalty can ethically be used.

Criminals are created by oppresion of something. Its not enought to deter them, or to kill them. We are blaming this and that in our societies but what it is that creates criminals is our society. We get them because of people being oppressed.
that is why I say
"I forgive them for they truely know not what they do."
because it is true. They just do what they have been brought into

How true incubus! I vehemently believe that if people were given freedom, even the freedom to leave society, the crime rate would plummet. Sure there would be a few guys left behind who just want to cause trouble, but the vast majority of the problems in society occur because there is no freedom, and people get frustrated and disillusioned with society.
