First off, an LD, or lucid dream, is a dream, usually very vivid and colourful, where you realise you are dreaming. You know you are in a dream world, and as such, can pretty much control everything, fly, dodge bullets, etc etc. Even Astral project from the dream, and have a full blown AP.
I guess the best technique I have for LD's is the affirmation technique.
Before you go to bed, repeat a word or phrase in your head, like "I will have a lucid dream tonight, and remember it tomorrow" (Thats important, because otherwise you could wake up *knowing* you had a great LD, but not being able to rememeber exactly what happened) It might take a week or so to actuall work, but it will eventually.
Another one is... I think its called the trigger method or something. You basically ask yourself a series of questions during the day. You could put a small dot in ink on your hand, and everytime you look at that dot during the course of the day, ask yourself "Am I dreaming?" Or, the way I used to do it, was to look at my watch every few minutes, and ask myself whether I was dreaming.
How this works, is that if you do anythign often enough, (Again were talking a few days to a week of this here) it will eventually work its way into your subconscious, so when you dream, you will find yourself looking at your watch, and asking yoursef if you are dreaming. If you do this while your dreaming, it will almost always cause you to have an LD.
