Just a simple, open-ended question before I finally sleep... What is freedom? What does it mean to be *truly* free? Is it just a physical thing? No chains or bars holding you back? Is democracy the epitome of freedom? Or are there chains of the mind? Brainwashing, lies, stigma, social programming? You decide, I sleep now...

Freedom is not just a freedom to speak freely or other attributes that come with it. How can you be truly free when material things control us? Do not let things that you own, own you. My method for happiness will always be to eat when I am hungry and sleep when I’m tired. It is the simplest thing in the World, yet many people have trouble doing this. People think and worry about numerous things that are irrelevant compared to what is really important which is living happily and enjoying life. Free yourself. peace

Give this man an AWARD!! So few people realise that... your so right... Btw, ever hear "Between angels and insects" by papa roach? Great song, sums up your post nicely... We cant let our possessions, or pursuit of possessions, run our lives. We should live life for life, not objects.

If you really want freedom you have to die for it, literally.

objects don't interfere with ur freedom tho...its ur own mind. It's all in the mind. Freedom is eating when hungry and sleeping when tired.

Ah but what about freedom to believe? Sure you can give a man food, and drink, and heal his physical wounds when hes sick, but what about his mind? If is mind is bound by invisible chains of dogma and rules, is that any different from throwing him in a cell? em... Care to elaborate?

prison is a nice place...they give u food, heating and place to sleep...see since my mind is loking at more positive aspect, it seems more positive. Buit hwen u lose the perspective in order to see the truth, throwing away even the perspective of positivity, u arrive at zen. And that's when I realized that I must go now.

That actually makes sense... lol It does tho, I get what your saying... Still, people need the freedom to pursue Zen yes? Are you telling me youd still be who you are if you people telling you you werent allowed, and all kinds of rules and laws and punishments in place to stop you?

In *every* form? Quite possibly true... But life *can* be free of opression in most forms...

Seriosuly freedome is an illusion, there is no such thing just as imprisonment is also an illusion.
